EFM FRONTIÈRES FOCUS IN BERLIN

Co-presented by the Fantasia International Film Festival and the European Film Market (EFM), the EFM Frontières Focus is a showcase of five genre projects in advanced stages of financing, production or post-production and aims to facilitate connections between the project teams and industry members such as sales agents, distributors and festival programmers.

Exclusive networking events tailored to the genre community will complement the program, providing unique opportunities for business and collaboration in a focused, dynamic setting.

REQUIREMENTS

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS

  • Projects must qualify as feature length;
  • Projects must qualify as "Genre" in nature: horror, sci-fi, fantasy, action, dark thriller;
  • Projects must be at the production or post-production stage
  • Projects must be seeking sales agents or buyers
  • Submissions can originate from any territory; priority will be given to submissions from North America and Europe.

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

  • For projects in post-production: video URL link of your work-in-progress (max. 15 mins - preferably 3-4 clips)
  • For projects in production (early or advanced): full script
  • Long version of your synopsis (maximum 2 pages)
  • Look book or Pitch Deck
  • Current partners' letters of intent or documented proof of collaboration
  • Team CVs

Your documents can be submitted in French or English.

PARTICIPATION FEE

  • Participation Fee (paid only if project is selected): CAD$ 250

Travel and accommodation costs are the responsibility of the participants.

Scholarships may be available through your national film fund. These scholarships may cover both the participation fee and the additional costs. Please contact your national film fund for more information.

In return for your participation in the EFM Frontières Focus and should your film be completed, in addition to the inclusion of the Frontières logo in the end credits of the film, you acknowledge that the North American Premiere should take place at the Fantasia International Film Festival, host of the market. This request will be waived should the film be selected at any of the following film festivals: South by Southwest (SXSW), Sundance, Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Tribeca or Telluride. In the event of the film screening at any of the aforementioned US festivals, Fantasia will retain first right of refusal for the film’s Canadian Premiere in the same year.

In case of selection, project holders will be informed at the end of November.
